Privacy Policy & Children’s Privacy (COPPA) Notice
Effective date: October 17, 2026
Last updated: October 25, 2026
The short version (for grown-ups in a hurry)
- No ads. Ever. Adenvale shows no advertising anywhere on the site or in our emails, and we don’t use ad networks, ad pixels or tracking cookies. We never sell or rent anyone’s information.
- Kids’ pages never ask for personal information. Games, printables, comics and stories need no name, email, account, chat or upload.
- Email and accounts are for grown-ups only. Newsletters, purchases, the Family app and parent accounts are for parents, guardians and teachers aged 18+.
- Parents are in charge of anything that involves a child, including Harbor Swap and Idea Igloo.
- We tell you about the tools we use, including YouTube privacy-enhanced (youtube-nocookie.com) video embeds, and the companies that process orders and payments for grown-ups (see section 6). On grown-up pages only (shop, product, cart, checkout, account and policy pages, and /grown-ups/), we count visits with Jetpack Stats. Kids’ pages have no stats.
- You can review or delete any information about your child at any time. Email info@adenvale.com.
1. Who we are
Adenvale (“Adenvale,” “we,” “us”) is a kids’ brand at adenvale.com, operated by Big Strategy Labs LLC. It is a snowy island city of games and stories, founded by Mayor Aden (a young inventor) with Flappy the penguin as your guide.
Operator and contact for all privacy questions:
- Operator: Big Strategy Labs LLC
- Mailing address: 30 N Gould St Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801
- Email: info@adenvale.com
Google may act as a separate operator for embedded YouTube videos (see section 3c). Apart from this, no other operator collects or keeps personal information from children through Adenvale.
2. Who this policy covers
This policy covers adenvale.com, its games (including Flappy Penguin World Tour, Ring Splash, Classic Ring Toss and Carnival games), its printables and comics, Harbor Swap, Idea Igloo, Penguin Market (our shop), our emails, and the Adenvale Family parent app (“the Services”).
Adenvale is made for children, so we treat every visitor to a kids’ page as possibly under 13.
Our Adenvale YouTube channel is set to “Made for Kids.” When your family watches it on YouTube, Google/YouTube is responsible for that data under Google’s Privacy Policy. Adenvale receives only aggregate channel statistics and never identifies individual viewers.
3. What we collect, and what we don’t
3a. From children: we never ask kids for personal information
Kids can play the games, use our free printables (such as the Color Your Heroes coloring book) and explore the island without giving us any personal information. On kids’ pages we:
- do not ask for names, emails, phone numbers, addresses, photos, voice, video or locations;
- do not offer chat, public profiles, comments, or any way for a child to post personal information publicly;
- do not show any ads, anywhere, and do not allow advertising, remarketing or ad tracking of anyone on Adenvale;
- do not use children’s information to train or develop artificial intelligence.
Game scores and settings, if any, stay in the player’s own browser (local storage) and are not sent to us.
3b. Automatically collected technical information
Like nearly every website, our host’s servers receive basic technical information when any device loads a page. This includes information such as the page requested, the time, browser and device type, and the device’s IP address.
On grown-up pages only (shop, product, cart, checkout, account, policy pages and /grown-ups/), Jetpack Stats records page views, referring sites and general device and browser information, so we can see which products and pages parents find useful. It is never used on kids’ pages, for advertising, or to build profiles.
Under COPPA, an IP address or similar identifier can count as a “persistent identifier.” We use this information only to support the internal operations of the site: to keep the site secure, working, and loading quickly. We never use it to build profiles or show ads.
We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. WordPress and Jetpack may set strictly necessary cookies (for example, for logged-in grown-ups, the shopping cart, or security).
Do Not Track: We do not track visitors across other websites and we show no ads, so we treat all visitors the same whatever their browser’s Do Not Track setting is.
3c. Embedded videos (YouTube privacy-enhanced mode)
Some pages include videos embedded with YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). In this mode, YouTube says it does not use viewing information to personalize ads or the viewing experience. When a video is played, Google/YouTube may still receive technical information, such as the IP address and device information, and may set or read local identifiers needed to deliver the video. YouTube’s handling is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy). We mark our own videos as “made for kids” on YouTube. If you prefer, you can skip the videos. Nothing else on Adenvale depends on them.
3d. From grown-ups (18+) only
We collect information from parents, guardians and teachers only when they choose to give it:
| What | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Email address (and first name if you give it) | Signing up for the Mayor’s Log / free printable | To send the newsletter and the printable you asked for |
| Name, email, billing details | Buying a printable or membership | To deliver your purchase and send receipts. Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor; we never see your full card number |
| Parent account details | Family app, Harbor Swap, Founding Family membership | To run your account and the features you choose |
| Your message | Emailing us or using a grown-ups form | To reply to you |
| Gift recipient’s email (an adult) and optional gift message | A grown-up buys a gift | To deliver the gift and send related notices only |
Our email signup forms appear on several pages, including our For Grown-ups page and our free-printable sign-up pages, and are for parents, guardians and teachers. Each form first asks what year you were born. We use it only to check that you’re 18 or older. That check happens in your web browser only: your birth year is never sent to us or anyone else, or stored, and the form doesn’t show the email field until the check is done. If the year shows the person may be under 18, the form stops, clears anything typed and sends nothing. If the check passes, the form asks for your email address and shows a separate box, unticked, that you tick to get the Mayor’s Log (occasional news, new printables, free lessons and offers from Adenvale). Every email from us has an unsubscribe link. Our email list runs on WordPress.com, operated by Automattic Inc. When you confirm your signup, Automattic creates a free WordPress.com subscriber account for your email address so you can manage your subscription. Automattic handles that account under its own Privacy Policy. Unsubscribing stops our emails. To close the WordPress.com account too, see Automattic’s Privacy Policy, or email info@adenvale.com and we’ll help. Some free printables can also be downloaded without signing up. If we learn that a child has signed up for email, we delete that address.
3e. No advertising
No ads. Ever. Adenvale shows no advertising anywhere on the site or in our emails, and we don’t use ad networks, ad pixels or tracking cookies. We don’t let any advertiser collect information on Adenvale, and we never share information about children or grown-ups with advertisers. If we ever change this, we will update this policy and, where the law requires, notify parents and get new consent first.
4. Parent-controlled features
Harbor Swap (invite-only toy swap)
Harbor Swap is an invite-only toy swap. A parent holds the account, approves every swap, and arranges any hand-off. Kids earn Glows points, which are just for fun, have no cash value and cannot be bought or sold.
Harbor Swap can also help parents price toys and other items their family has outgrown and create ready-to-post listing text for marketplaces such as Facebook Marketplace, Nextdoor, Craigslist and eBay. Adenvale doesn’t post anything for you: a parent copies the listing and posts it on their own account on those sites, under those sites’ own terms and privacy policies. Please don’t include children, faces, home addresses or other identifying details in listing photos or text.
- What may be collected: the parent’s name and email; a child’s nickname or first name only (no full name, photo, school or address); descriptions and photos of toys, which must not show children, faces, home addresses or other identifying details; and swap history and Glows balance.
- Who sees it: other invited, approved Harbor Swap families see toy listings and nicknames. Contact details and hand-off arrangements are shared parent to parent, only for swaps the parent approves.
- Consent: before a child’s nickname or any child-related information is added, we get the parent’s verifiable parental consent using a method approved by the FTC. A parent can agree to Harbor Swap without agreeing to any disclosure to third parties that isn’t needed to run it. We do not disclose children’s information to third parties for advertising, money, or AI training.
Idea Igloo (votes and ideas)
Kids love suggesting new games, skins and stories. Idea Igloo is set up so that a grown-up sends in each idea:
- Voting is anonymous and asks for no personal information.
- The idea form is on our For Grown-ups page and is filled in by a parent or guardian, not by a child. It asks for the parent’s email, the idea, an optional nickname and age to credit the inventor, and a required checkbox confirming that a parent or guardian (18+) is sending it. We don’t store IP addresses with idea submissions.
- We use the parent’s email only to reply about that idea. If we feature an idea, we credit it by nickname only (for example, “an inventor named Penguin Pal, age 8”) and only with the parent’s OK.
- Kids should never type their full name, school, address, photo or contact details into the form. If we receive them, we delete them.
Penguin Market (our shop)
Penguin Market is for grown-ups. All purchases must be made by a parent or guardian (18+). When you buy, we collect your name, email, shipping address and payment details to fill your order, and share them only with Stripe (payments), Printful (printing and shipping), and Gumroad (our second store, for digital products bought there), as listed in section 6. Digital products are sold through our own checkout (Stripe) and are available right after purchase, by a link in your order email and in My Account → Downloads. Some digital products, such as the Holiday Countdown, are also sold through Gumroad, our second store, which processes those payments under its own privacy policy. Kids’ pages never link straight to checkout.
Gift purchases. When a grown-up buys a digital gift and uses the “give as a gift” option, they give us (at our checkout) the recipient’s email address. The recipient is normally the child’s parent or guardian. We use that email only to deliver the gift and send notices about it, such as access, updates, delivery dates or a refund. We don’t add it to our newsletter or send marketing to it unless that parent signs up separately. Our checkout includes an optional gift message. Please don’t include a child’s full name, age, school, photo or other personal details. If we see that kind of information, we delete it where we can. We never ask the gift giver for information about the child.
Adenvale Family app (for parents)
The Family app is for parents and guardians. It collects the information described for parent accounts in section 3d and for Harbor Swap in section 4.
5. How we use information
We use information only to run Adenvale, deliver what you asked for, reply to you, keep the site safe, and improve our games and stories. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We show no ads and allow no advertising, targeted advertising or remarketing. We do not use children’s personal information to train or develop AI.
6. Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers who help us run Adenvale and who may use it only to provide their service to us:
| Provider | What they do for us | What they receive |
|---|---|---|
| Automattic Inc. (WordPress.com and Jetpack) | Hosts our site and sends our emails. If you confirm an email signup, Automattic also creates a WordPress.com subscriber account for you under its own Privacy Policy. Website hosting, security, email newsletters and signup forms (Jetpack), and our WooCommerce online store, which hosts orders and downloads. Our host, WordPress.com (Automattic), measures page loading speed to keep the site running well. This uses no cookies and no advertising or tracking IDs. On pages for grown-ups only (shop, checkout, account, policies and /grown-ups/), Jetpack Stats counts visits to help us improve the site. It never runs on kids’ pages. | Technical information (section 3b); grown-ups’ email addresses for newsletters; name, email and order details for store purchases, and a gift recipient’s email and optional gift message |
| Google / YouTube | Delivering embedded videos (privacy-enhanced mode) | Technical information when a video is played (section 3c) |
| Stripe (payment processing, including Apple Pay and Google Pay) | Processing payments for grown-up purchases, including store orders | Your name, email, billing and shipping details, and payment card or wallet details, used to process your order and prevent fraud. On product, cart and checkout pages, Stripe’s payment tools (including its hCaptcha fraud check) may use cookies and device information only to detect fraud and keep payments secure, never for advertising. Stripe processes this under its own privacy policy. |
| Printful | Printing and shipping Penguin Market orders | Your name, shipping address, email and phone (if given), and the items ordered |
| Gumroad (a second store for some digital products, such as the Holiday Countdown) | If you buy on Gumroad: processing and delivering your order, under Gumroad’s own privacy policy | If you buy on Gumroad: your name, email and payment details, used by Gumroad to process and deliver your order under its own privacy policy. We receive your name, email and order details to support your purchase. |
These companies may use information only to provide their services to us. Stripe processes payments under its own privacy policy. Some digital products, such as the Holiday Countdown, are also sold through Gumroad, our second store, which processes those payments under its own privacy policy. If you choose Apple Pay or Google Pay, Apple or Google shares your payment and shipping details with Stripe to complete your purchase, under their own privacy policies. We never see your full card number. None of them receive personal information from children through Adenvale.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect a child’s safety.
7. How long we keep it (data retention policy)
As the amended COPPA Rule requires, here is our written retention policy for children’s information:
| Information | Purpose | Business need | Deleted |
|---|---|---|---|
| Harbor Swap child nickname, swap history, Glows | Running swaps the parent approves | Needed while the family takes part | Within 30 days after the parent closes the account, or after 12 months of inactivity |
| Toy listing photos/descriptions | Showing toys to approved families | Needed while the listing is active | Within 30 days after the swap ends or the listing is removed |
| Idea Igloo nickname + idea | Reviewing and crediting ideas | Needed while the idea is considered | Within 6 months, or sooner if a parent asks. Credited ideas keep the nickname only with the parent’s OK |
| Technical data (host servers) | Internal operations | Keeping the site secure and working | Kept only as long as needed for these purposes, then deleted on our host’s (Automattic’s) retention schedule. |
| Visit statistics (grown-up pages only), via Jetpack Stats (Automattic) | Understanding which shop and parent pages are used | Improving the shop and parent pages | Kept only as long as needed, then deleted on Automattic’s retention schedule. |
We never keep children’s personal information indefinitely. We delete it securely when it is no longer needed.
Gift recipient emails are kept only as long as needed to deliver the gift and handle refunds, and as tax law requires for receipts.
Grown-up information (email list, purchases) is kept until you unsubscribe or close your account, except receipts, which we keep as long as tax law requires.
8. Your rights as a parent
At any time you can:
- review the personal information we hold about your child;
- have it deleted;
- stop any further collection or use of it;
- withdraw consent for Harbor Swap, Idea Igloo or the Family app.
Email info@adenvale.com with the subject “Parent privacy request.” We will confirm that you are the child’s parent before sharing anything, and we will reply within 10 business days. We will never require a child to share more information than is reasonably needed to take part in an activity.
Grown-ups can unsubscribe from any email with one click, or ask us to delete their own information.
California residents: you may ask what personal information we hold about you and ask us to delete it. We do not sell or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
9. Keeping information safe
We keep a written information security program that fits our size and the sensitivity of children’s information. It covers limited access (only authorized Adenvale team members), strong passwords with two-factor authentication, reputable service providers, and a yearly review.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change how we collect, use or disclose children’s information, we will update this page and, where the law requires, notify parents directly and get new consent before the change applies.
11. Contact
